Meet Laura, our new body piercer

Hey ya, I’m Laura, and I’m a body piercer here at Lighthouse.

I am a New Zealander who’s been living in the UK for 12 years, 10 of those in the vibrant city of Brighton. 

I love Heavy Metal and Horror films, and if you look at my Instagram, you'll see that the backgrounds behind my piercings are record covers from my personal collection! See if you can recognise them?

I got into piercing through my dear friend and mentor, Sophie Whitford, who was the best mentor a girl could ask for. The industry has always fascinated me. From getting tattooed and pierced from a young age, it’s such an inspiring community to be part of, and it's ever-changing artistically and technically.

Watching the confidence people feel when seeing their new piercing, whether it’s on a whim or well thought out, is by far the best part of the job. It never gets old and always leaves me smiling. 

Lighthouse has been a radical studio and family to be part of, with such friendly and fun vibes waiting for me every morning.
